Join a panel of guest speakers as they discuss the latest research on the Grey whale unusual mortality event. The evening will have some short presentations and then open up to the audience for questions and discussion.
Guest speakers include:
Dr Aimée Lang - part of the Marine Mammal Genetics Program within the SWFSC’s Marine Mammal and Turtle Division. Her work focuses on using genetic and genomic tools to better understand the behavior and population structure of marine mammals, including grey whales. She is also involved in leading the field component of SWFSC’s shore-based gray whale surveys. She acts as a U.S. delegate to the International Whaling Commission’s Scientific Committee, where she convenes a working group that provides advice on stock structure-related issues of interest to other subcommittees and working groups of the Scientific Committee.
