Maritime Kid's Day - Tofino

Activities for all ages! We're thrilled to host the first of two Maritime Kids Days, sponsored by Remote Passages Marine Excursions. Come and take part in hands-on educational activities to foster learning and wonder for our marine ecosystem. Our lineup includes:

  • GinaLina - Live Concert with Art and Music Workshops

  • SIMRS - Build-A-Whale - Learn about the biology, ecology, anatomy, and evolution of killer whales as you construct the real skeleton of an offshore killer whale

  • Oceans Network Canada - Giant Ocean Floor Map - explore the world’s oceans with scientists through AR

  • Glenn Kachmar – Science Educator and Nerd - hands on fun as you learn whale adaptations through science experiments

  • Raincoast Education Society - Plankton Discovery - what small creatures support the grey whales that come to our coastline every summer? Come and see for yourself

  • Marine Mammal Rescue Unit - from seals to whales. Get hands on as you learn how to rescue marine mammals that have stranded.

  • Face Painting

  • Parks Canada education and outreach team
