Marine Debris Macrame workshop with Sea Woven

Monday March 21, 2022 : 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Long Beach Surf Club

From trash to treasure. The coast of Vancouver Island is constantly cleaned of marine debris through non-profit organizations such as Rugged Coast Research Society and Surfrider Pacific Rim who collect, analyze, and document tones of marine debris that has found its way to our shores posing a threat to humans and the surrounding environment alike. A lot of this debris has come from shores as far as Japan, making for some very interesting materials. In this workshop we will use these uniquely found objects and materials to create new artwork that is not only beautiful in its creation but also inspires the use of more disregarded ‘trash’ in new and innovative ways throughout all categories of industry.

The cost is $75 and space is limited so register early.
