Join Subtidal Adventures and a local guest marine researcher for a fun-filled zodiac boat whale watching trip in Barkley Sound. We will introduce you to local marine mammals and involve you in identifying individuals and their habits.

2.5 – 3 hour tour length.

Advanced booking required for this very popular event. Adult $109.00, Children (4-12) $89.00. 25% of the proceeds will go back to support the Whale Festival.

Whale Spotting & Drop-in at Wild Pacific Trail

Join Wild Pacific Trail Society, Raincoast Education Society and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve naturalists sighting our amazing guests of honour from Amphitrite Point in Ucluelet. Using high-powered spotting scopes and even the naked eye, this scenic spot lends itself to fantastic views of the open ocean, the grey whale migration and more of nature’s best offerings. Avoid the queue; bring your own binoculars if you have them.

Parade of Whales and Wonders - Festival opening

This key event kicks off the Pacific Rim Whale Festival with businesses and organizations working hard to decorate floats that capture the spirit of the whale festival.  Locals and visitors alike line the streets to watch as the excitement loops through Tofino, finishing at the Tofino Village Green.

Join us for cake on the Village Green, and wear your buttons in support, as we celebrate the 33rd birthday or our unique festival!

Fourth Street Dock Underwater Cleanup - Tofino

Join Surfrider and Emerald Sea Protection Society for a clean up at 4th Street Dock!

Emerald Sea will be providing divers who will be collecting ghost fishing gear and other debris from around the ocean floor! Only 10% of debris makes it onto coastlines, so come out and find out what’s beneath the surface.

Snacks and refreshments provided, remember to BYO mug!  This is a Pacific Rim Whale Festival button event for the whole family.
