Join Ucluelet Aquarium curator Laura Griffin-Cochrane for an in-her-shoes actual Aquarium-bound specimen collection from Terrace Beach. Oh! The life in our own backyard! A net, chest waders, some biologist friends, and you. Laura will be joined by Ucluelet Aquarium staff for some seining fun. All ages welcome and boots recommended. Brought to you by the Ucluelet Aquarium Society.
Pets MUST be on a leash.

Join us for an all-out afternoon of fun, art, science, and music. Activities for all ages! Featuring Bobs & Lolo. There are also games, arts & crafts, face painting and so much to do we have to host this event in each town! Parks Canada, The Rainforest Education Society, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Ocean Networks and the Four Frames photo booth are some of the participants.

ARTSPLASH! - Annual ART SHOW- Artist in Action
Artist in Action, Crystal Crossman
Crystal Crossman is a visually impaired self-taught artist from Sackville, New Brunswick Canada. Born in 1976 and raised on the East coast until 1986 when her family then decided to move across the country and found themselves on beautiful Vancouver Island, where for the last 30 years she has called home. Her favourite mediums are coloured pencils and oil paints, and she was selected for this year’s Pacific Rim Whale Festival poster artist.
“ArtSplash!” is the largest non-juried Annual Art Show on the west coast and once again this year it will be in conjunction with the Whale Festival. Up to 60 artists will have their work for sale and on selected days Artists in Action will be demonstrating their skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to see the creative work of regional established and emerging artists. Admission: Free – donations appreciated! Daily until the 25th 10am–6pm.



Whale Spotting and Whale Touch Table - Learn to Camp
Join Parks Canada and learn about grey whales and their migration up the coast. Meet the interpreters on the deck of the Kwisitis Visitor Centre where you can test your cetacean knowledge and maybe even spot a grey whale.
11-3pm, Learn To Camp
Join Parks Canada’s Learn to Camp team to discover and practice some basics of campsite set up. Subjects include campsite planning, safe food storage practices, learning the Leave No Trace principles, wildlife safety and packing tips for front-country camping.
