GUEST SPEAKER: : Dr. Jim Darling: Grey Whale Connections & Humpback Songs -- New Insights

Monday March 12, 2018 : 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Remote Passages Marine Excursions, 51 Wharf St, Tofino

Whale researcher Dr. Jim Darling, a long-time Tofino resident, has led independent whale research projects for over 30 years.  Jim will present on recent work from the field at this popular annual Whale Festival event.

This year, Dr. Darling offers a sneak peek into some surprising findings from long-term photo ID and genetic research on 'local' Grey Whales.

We will also visit the warm, clear waters off Maui, where Jim & the Whale Trust team log the songs and interactions of Humpback Whales using sound recordings, ID photos, and aerial videos -- hear and see some their recent encounters!
